The Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) on August 2, 2025, issued a public notice inviting comments and suggestions on two new draft regulations. The proposed regulations are the Draft MERC (Deviation Settlement Mechanism and Related Matters) Regulations, 2025 and the Draft MERC (State Grid Code) (First Amendment) Regulations, 2025.
The draft regulations and their explanatory memorandums have been made available on the MERC's official website. Interested stakeholders and the public are requested to submit their comments, suggestions, and objections within 21 days of the notice.
The deadline for submitting comments is August 23, 2025. Submissions can be made electronically through the 'E-Public Consultation' tab on the MERC website or via hard copy for those without electronic access. Any feedback received after the deadline will not be considered by the Commission.
